The Founders of the Riverdale Pottery Collective
Riverdale Pottery Collective was founded in 2021 by Nora Bourdeau and John Dorsey, two local potters who share a love of clay. Both potters live in the Riverdale neighborhood of the historic town of Dedham, Massachusetts.
-
John Dorsey
John’s adventures with clay started with relationships with master potters Makoto Yabe and Masakazu Kusakabe. His hand-built pieces reference vernacular architecture, antique tools, and historical patterns.
-
Nora Creahan Bourdeau
Nora’s love of clay began at Syracuse University, where she discovered both porcelain and the wheel, her favorite method of building. Her work combines lovely patterns layered over delicate carvings.
